Social media strategies for building your personal brand in commercial real estate.
Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you know that in today's digital age, social media is a powerful tool for real estate professionals looking to build a personal brand. Darren Krakowiak, the founder of CRE Success, explains why in order to get ahead of the competition, you need to foster relationships on platforms like LinkedIn, Instagram, and Facebook.
He has outlined his must-do strategies to help you leverage social media and give your professional reputation in the commercial real estate industry a real boost
Not all platforms are created equal
LinkedIn should be at the top of your list as it’s a professional network designed for business connections. Here, you can showcase market expertise, connect with potential clients, and share industry insights. Instagram is an ideal platform for visual storytelling, where you can post high-quality property images, behind-the-scenes work, or even success stories. While not as business-focused, Facebook offers access to a broad user base and is a great tool for building local community connections and engagement.
“Your social media profiles are often the first digital impression potential clients and partners have of you, so be sure that your profiles are complete, up-to-date, and professional.”
Engage with your audience
Social media is not just a broadcasting platform - it’s a conversation. Speak up! Building a personal brand requires authentic engagement with your followers and peers. Respond to comments on your posts, participate in industry discussions, and don't hesitate to share your own thoughts on trending topics. Avoid overly formal communication, and instead aim for genuine, personable conversation while staying professional.
Leverage visual content
“Content is king when it comes to building a personal brand.”
Only ever use professional photos and videos to showcase your properties, market updates, or even personal achievements in the real estate world. Platforms like Instagram, LinkedIn’s native video, and YouTube are perfect for sharing visual content that attracts attention, so consider incorporating virtual property tours and client testimonials. Videos, in particular, can create a strong connection with your audience by allowing them to see and hear directly from you, making your brand more approachable.

SMART SNIPPETS
Homeowners hold tight for decades.
If you're looking to grab a listing in Church Point, in NSW, you might be in for a long wait. New data shows residents there hold onto their homes for an average of 22.47 years. It's not alone - suburbs across Australia are seeing homeowners stay put for 20+ years. Experts suggest strong community ties and great lifestyles are making homeowners hold onto their properties.
Rent hike looms in the Garden State.
Renters in Victoria could see substantial rent hikes as new energy efficiency standards propose replacing outdated gas appliances with electric ones, draft-proofing old homes and blind cord safety. Research indicates landlords will likely pass these costs on to tenants, potentially increasing rents by as much as $65 per week.

They’re heeere!
Agents could make an absolute killing on the ‘Poltergeist’ house, which has hit the market for US$1.75m - but who will be brave enough to buy it? Fans of the 1982 horror flick now have the chance to own a piece of movie history, with the iconic house in Simi Valley, California up for grabs for the first time in 45 years.
