The key to better prospecting in 2025
Follow-ups are the backbone of effective prospecting, yet many agents abandon leads after one or two attempts.
Darren Krakowiak, Founder of CRE Success, explains that a successful outreach strategy requires 7 to 13 touchpoints to cut through the noise and build trust. By implementing a well-structured prospecting cadence, which is a rhythm of varied, strategic outreach, agents can stay top-of-mind with prospects and turn follow-ups into meaningful opportunities, setting a strong foundation for 2025.
Crafting a cadence that works
A prospecting cadence involves systematic outreach across multiple channels, such as calls, emails, and social media.
"The goal isn’t to close the deal immediately, but to open a conversation," Darren says. Tailoring cadences to the prospect’s context and relationship level is key, as is balancing persistence with value. Each interaction should offer helpful insights, ensuring you’re seen as a trusted advisor rather than just another salesperson.
The role of persistence
Persistence is essential, demonstrating your reliability and commitment. "If you’re not occasionally being told that you’re too persistent, then it’s likely that you’re being nowhere near persistent enough," Darren says. Combining touchpoints, such as a call followed by an immediate email, can accelerate the process, reducing the time required to break through and engage a prospect.
Track and refine for success
Using a CRM to track cadences allows agents to measure what works and adjust their strategies. By identifying patterns, such as optimal times for contact or the most effective messaging, agents can continuously refine their approach. "Over time, you’ll develop a cadence that not only increases your chances of engagement but also nurtures trust and familiarity.”

Canada’s Airbnb crackdown to free up housing
Justin Trudeau’s government is tackling the housing crisis in part by targeting short-term rentals with a new $50 million enforcement fund. With an estimated 235,000 Airbnb and Vrbo properties nationwide, the government aims to convert non-compliant units into long-term housing. Cities can apply for funding starting December 2024, provided they demonstrate strict rental regulations are in place.
