“They said it”

“Housing demand is also being buoyed by population growth, tight rental markets, resilient labour market conditions and recent home equity gains.”

That’s PropTrack Senior Economist Eleanor Creagh on February price growth reaccelerating. More below…

Good Morning from Elite Agent

If you promise customers an ‘enchanted garden’, an ‘imagination lab’ and a ‘twilight tunnel’, then that’s exactly what you need to deliver. Only that’s not what families received when they spent $67 on a Willy Wonka-inspired event in Scotland. Instead, they entered a sparsely decorated warehouse, got a tiny cup of lemonade and two jelly beans. For the organisers it was a harsh lesson in delivering on what you promise and meeting service expectations. And that’s something real estate coach Caroline Bolderston knows a lot about. Caroline says whether you are in property management, sales or administration – your role is to deliver value to your clients. And she has all the tips on how to find out what that is, here.

Today, we’re covering:

  • Price growth lifts again

  • Demystifying the Right to Disconnect

  • First National sets sail in Cannington

  • The REIA is heading to Paris

  • And much more!

Price growth reaccelerates

After a bit of a lull to end 2023 and start 2024, property prices reaccelerated in February. The PropTrack Home Price Index found national prices rose 0.45 per cent month-on-month, the largest monthly increase since October 2023. Meanwhile the CoreLogic Home Value Index showed Perth continued to be the stand-out performer, up 1.8 per cent over the month. More here.

$5 note's new cultural canvas

The Reserve Bank of Australia has issued a call for help to redesign the $5 note. The lilac currency currently features Queen Elizabeth II and the Australian Parliament. While parliament will remain on the note, the RBA has called for ideas from the community to reflect First Nations cultures into the design of an updated $5 note. “This could be a story passed down for generations, a location, an idea, an instrument or an object that binds a community,” Assistant Governor (Business Services) Michelle McPhee says.
