Money laundering crackdown

The crackdown on purchasing real estate to launder money has now shifted to the US, with a new proposal aimed at boosting transparency. US regulators have put forward a new rule that targets the common practice of using all-cash transactions through trusts and secretive legal entities to anonymously purchase properties. If enacted, the rule will require real estate professionals to report high-risk transactions, revealing the true owners behind these deals. More here.
