Tenants and landlords face tough new rules

New measures are being implemented in Blyth to address issues with problematic landlords and tenants. Northumberland County Council has granted extra powers in the Croft and Cowpen wards, requiring all landlords to obtain a licence before renting out their properties to ensure housing standards and reduce anti-social behaviour. Council leader Glen Sanderson and deputy leader Richard Wearmouth emphasised the scheme's aim to improve living conditions and tackle the negative impact of poor housing on health and community wellbeing. Three….. Two…. One…. Blast off!

On July 16, 1969, Apollo 11 blasted off from Kennedy Space Centre, sending Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin, and Michael Collins on a historic mission to the moon. With over 7.5 million pounds of thrust, the Saturn V rocket propelled them into space, marking the beginning of a journey that would see Armstrong and Aldrin become the first humans to walk on the lunar surface. The pair spent about two and a quarter hours together exploring the site they had named Tranquility Base, collecting 21.5kg of lunar material to bring back to Earth.
