Good Morning from Elite Agent
We recently brought you the news that Aussies and Kiwis are thriving in life, but 48 per cent feel stressed a lot at work. We know real estate can be a taxing profession too, so we used our Movers + Shakers snap poll to ask how you’re feeling at work. We’re delighted to report no one answered ‘very stressed’. And while just 7 per cent of Elite Agent readers said they were ‘totally thriving’, the majority of you (71 per cent) said you were ‘good, but could improve’. Some of you are feeling ‘under pressure’ though, with 22 per cent of respondents selecting this answer. And if you are in need of a little workplace boost, Adrian Knowles shares 9 principles to help you thrive in real estate’s ups and downs, here.

There are plenty of genius moves on the cricket field when it comes to the traditional rivalry between Australia and England for the Ashes. But there is also plenty we can learn from each other as well.
Right now, our Elite Retreat Chief Engagement Officer is in the UK, meeting with some of the best real estate leaders and agents and some pretty smart thinkers from companies like KPMG, Bank of England and News UK. Meanwhile… around the world 🌎
You can knock, but no one’s home
Australia might be in the grip of a housing crisis, but dotted around the world stand many modern ghost towns - cities or communities filled with empty homes. Born from big ambitions, the lifeless landmarks stand empty due to misfortune, misjudgement or both. Ghost towns include the cookie-cutter villas of Forest City in Malaysia, the towering homes of McMansion Ghost Town in Missouri and the empty state guest mansions in Shenyang, China. More here.

‘Get out of the water’
On this day in 1975, Steven Spielberg’s shark thriller Jaws was released in theatres. The film stars Roy Scheider as police chief Martin Brody, who, with the help of a marine biologist and a professional shark hunter, hunts a man-eating great white shark that attacks beachgoers at a summer resort town. With a production budget of $9M, the film went on to take more than $476M at the box office and winning three Oscars. It was nominated for Best Picture but lost to One Flew Over The Cuckoos Nest.
