🚀 Momentum Over Motivation: A Smarter Way to Build Your Week
The hidden cost of relying on motivation alone
GOOD MORNING FROM ELITE AGENT 👋
On 6 November 1999, Australians went to the polls to decide whether the country should become a republic. The vote didn’t pass, and Australia stayed a constitutional monarchy, proof that people often prefer the comfort of the familiar over the uncertainty of change.
It’s a bit like real estate: no matter how shiny the “new model” looks, most clients will stick with what they trust until someone can clearly show them the value of moving. Whether it’s selling a property or selling an idea, confidence and clarity always close the deal.

LEADERSHIP
The power of structure and routine
The three principles driving long-term real estate success
After more than two decades in real estate, REMAX Extreme’s Brett White says the agents who succeed year after year aren’t necessarily the most talented or the loudest, they’re the ones who work with purpose, structure and consistency. His philosophy is built around three principles: consistency, accountability and momentum.
Consistency builds results
Brett believes progress in real estate comes from steady, repeatable actions rather than sporadic bursts of effort. “What you do today is important, what you do tomorrow is important,” he says. “Look beyond the ad hoc tasks that keep you ‘busy’ and focus on what will move you forward in your career, your business.”
He encourages agents to map out where they want to be in three, six or twelve months, then design their daily and weekly routines around those goals. Consistency, he says, is what transforms activity into achievement.
Accountability creates structure
For Brett, accountability starts with discipline and systems. “Having processes in place, and building a consistent structure to your working week automatically creates accountability ensuring tasks, especially those that build your database, your opportunities and your business, are being actioned,” he says.
He views discipline not as restriction but as the foundation for freedom. “Putting in the hard work and remaining consistent through being disciplined, that creates freedom in the long run,” he says. With clear structure, agents can work intentionally, reduce stress and know the important things are always being handled.
Momentum sustains success
Maintaining momentum, Brett admits, is the hardest part. “The real test is staying in control of your schedule when the market gets tough or when life gets busy,” he says. “Do the work, get the structure and do the not so sexy stuff first and do it right. Do it repeatedly, because we are what we do in repetition.”

TOGETHER WITH TAPI
The system helping property managers turn maintenance into an advantage
Top Australian property managers are transforming maintenance from a burden into a business strength using The Method, a framework developed by Tapi. Based on analysis of hundreds of thousands of maintenance jobs, The Method outlines five principles for consistent, efficient coordination. Tapi’s Director of Customer Success, Anna Pengelly, said it helps agencies pinpoint weaknesses that lead to lost managements or staff burnout.
The approach, introduced by co-founder Taylor Coleman at AREC 2025, has led to faster turnaround times, calmer teams, and improved customer satisfaction. Described as “Property Care,” it redefines maintenance as a trust-building opportunity, proving that in property management, care and consistency are now key competitive edges.
REGIONAL NEWS
Regional Australia outpaces capitals as lifestyle migration reshape the market
Regional Australia’s property values have grown faster than capital city markets over the past decade, rising 98.8 per cent compared with 84.7 per cent nationally, according to Ray White’s Regional Outlook 2025. Chief Economist Nerida Conisbee attributes the growth to two key forces: lifestyle migration and commodity cycles. Coastal and country areas in New South Wales, Victoria and Tasmania attracted buyers seeking affordability and space, while resource-rich regions in Queensland and Western Australia benefited from agricultural and mining rebounds.
FREE ELECTRICITY
Free daytime power for households under new ‘Solar Sharer’ scheme
Residents of NSW, South-East Queensland, and South Australia will have access to free electricity during the day from July 2026, under a new government initiative called “Solar Sharer.” The program, announced by Climate Change and Energy Minister Chris Bowen, will require energy retailers to offer at least three hours of free daytime power through the Default Market Offer. Households will need a smart meter and the ability to shift energy use to the free period to benefit. The scheme aims to make use of Australia’s surplus solar energy and reduce evening peak demand.
CANADIAN BUYERS
Tariffs and currency pressures cool Canadian interest in US real estate
Canadian demand for US property has eased, with Canadians still representing the largest group of foreign buyers but accounting for a smaller share of international activity than last year. Realtor.com data shows their share of US property searches fell from 36.6 per cent in 2024 to 32.1 per cent in the September 2025 quarter. The slowdown coincides with new US tariffs on Canadian imports of up to 35 per cent and a weaker Canadian dollar, which has eroded purchasing power. Despite the pullback, Canadians continue to favour lifestyle-driven destinations such as Cape Coral, Florida, and Phoenix, Arizona.
CELEBRITY HOMES
Sydney Sweeney linked to $22.8 million Bel Air time capsule on the market after 80 years
Hollywood actress Sydney Sweeney is rumoured to be eyeing one of Los Angeles’s most historic estates, the Casa Contenta residence in Bel Air, listed for US$15 million (A$22.8 million). Built in the 1930s, the pastel-pink Hollywood Regency-style home once hosted icons such as Édith Piaf, Joan Crawford and Joan Collins. Set on nearly two acres along the Bel Air Country Club, the estate features a nine-bedroom main house, a pool, tennis court, guesthouses and lavish retro interiors. Listing agent Josh Flagg of Compass calls it “one of the great homes of Los Angeles.”
