Good Morning from Elite Agent
John McGrath dropped a bombshell yesterday, outlining a plan to sell McGrath Limited to Knight Frank and Bayleys, in a move that would also see the company delisted from the ASX. Speaking to Elite Agent yesterday, John revealed the plan for the consortium had come together relatively recently, with Knight Frank and Bayleys approaching McGrath about the deal as a way for them to stake a bigger claim in the Australian residential market. John said the collaboration would also give McGrath’s Australian vendors greater access to international buyers. He also assured us that the McGrath name and branding would not change and he would remain CEO. More here.

According to some new research from PropTrack and Origin, 59 per cent of people found energy efficiency ratings important when buying, renting, or building a home, to lessen the cost of bills. At the same time, 77 per cent of buyers and 72 per cent of renters say they use energy efficiency ratings for reducing regular energy bills and managing the cost of living. So when it comes to marketing your listings, make sure you include their energy efficient features. More here.

Tasmanian Premier Jeremy Rockliff is very likely secured a historic fourth term after the state headed to the polls over the weekend. But it will probably take a few weeks to sort out what the new government looks like as the Liberals work to form a minority government. Jeremy has already started negotiation with the Lambie Network. And all this talk of getting the right people on the bus reminded us of John Knight’s sage advice on how to form a team that’s all heading in the one direction. More on that, here.
