On our radar
WA’s $5000 rental carrot
The WA Government will offer the owners of empty homes $5000 if they put them in the long-term rental pool. The Vacant Property Rental Incentive Scheme will offer payments to owners of up to 1000 vacant homes who are willing to provide a minimum 12-month lease to new, long-term tenants. REIWA CEO Cath Hart says, with a record low vacancy rate of 0.4 per cent, any scheme that puts a roof over people’s heads is a good thing. More here.

Meanwhile in South Africa 🇿🇦
Western Cape is the new home hotspot
South Africa’s Western Cape property market is booming, with significant growth in sales and rentals driven by semigration from provinces like Gauteng and KwaZulu-Natal. Landsdowne Property Group CEO Jonathan Kohler attributes the region's appeal due to better municipal management and lifestyle options, with increasing demand for properties in secure estates and gated communities. Why your buyers need a laundry chute
If you’re selling a home with a laundry chute, today is the ideal day to highlight that very feature to your buyers. Today is National Lost Sock Memorial Day and, if your buyers are anything like us, they’ll have more than one pair of mismatched socks. And socks have been going missing since almost the dawn of time, with the earliest known pair excavated from Oxyrhynchus, on the Nile, in Egypt. Made from Naalbinding, the socks dated back to 300 AD. While that’s a fun trivia fact we still have one question left unanswered - where do all of those lost socks end up? Of course urban legend says they are re-incarnated as excess tupperware lids in your plastic drawer…
