Good Morning from Elite Agent
Thirty per cent of Elite Agent readers believe the new ‘Right to Disconnect’ legislation will promote a healthier work-life balance and potentially improve overall productivity in the real estate industry. That’s according to the results of our snap poll from Movers + Shakers, our new weekly, Sunday newsletter, which is jam-packed full of the latest industry appointments, acquisitions, expansions and more. The poll also revealed many of you (also 30 per cent) need to see how the legislation is implemented before understanding the full ramifications (and we have updates on this on the way!).
There will be a new poll in this week’s edition of Movers + Shakers this Sunday, so subscribe here, and whitelist the email address [email protected], so you don’t miss a thing. Every vote in one of our polls also counts towards an entry into our ‘Win a ticket to Elite Retreat’ competition, which will be drawn on June 30 (one vote = one entry, max of one entry per week).
Today, we’re covering:
Domain’s profit turnaround
Darren Krakowiak on service not servitude
Ray White agents focus on process
Rental refuge in rural havens
And much more!
Let's get to work 🚀
On our radar
Domain’s profit turnaround
Domain has released its half-year financial results, with a notable 11 per cent increase in revenue to $202.2M and a significant rise in net profit of 48.7 per cent to $25.8M, compared to the previous year. CEO Jason Pellegrino attributes these positive figures to a turnaround in the Sydney and Melbourne property markets. While Domain reported a 2 per cent drop in new 'for sale' listings, Jason anticipates a reversal in this trend and expects increases in the near future. More on Domain’s results here.

Darren Krakowiak: Are you being accommodating or a doormat?
There's no doubt that real estate is a service-based industry. But what should you do when a client doesn't respect your time or expertise? In this feature, Darren Krakowiak from CRE Success explores the distinction between providing ‘exceptional service’ and being ‘subservient’. He also offers advice on establishing boundaries with clients to create a win-win situation for everyone. You can read more about it here.

Age is no barrier
They say age is just a number, and an Iranian diver has proven exactly that. Earlier this week, Taghi Askari, who is 100, completed an exhibition dive at the 2024 World Championships in Doha. This remarkable achievement comes 73 years after he won silver and bronze at the first Asian Games. Mr. Askari will also be participating in the World Aquatics Masters Championships, which begins on February 23. He told World Aquatics that he has loved diving since he was a teenager and has never given up on his dream of competing.
Another person who never gave up on her dream is Nicola Parreira, from Barry Plant Narre Warren. Nicola risked everything her family had when she had the opportunity to run her own agency, and her story affirms the magic that can happen when you don’t give up on what you really want. Read more about her story here.
